Answer
There are four School Enhancement Programme school projects within the East Antrim constituency, namely Carrickfergus Grammar School, Greenisland Primary School, Thornfield House and Roddensvale School.
As these are all controlled schools, the projects are being delivered by the Education Authority (EA). The current status of each scheme is as follows:
Greenisland Primary School – The design team is currently developing the Technical Feasibility Report (TFR) for the project. The Business Case will be progressed on completion of an approved TFR.
Carrickfergus Grammar School – The design team is currently developing the TFR for the project. The Business Case will be progressed on completion of an approved TFR.
Thornfield House – The TFR has been completed and the business case is in the final stages of drafting.
Roddensvale School – The TFR had been completed and a draft business case produced. However, the EA had to advance additional accommodation at the school for September 2022 and September 2023, due to ongoing critical accommodation needs. The TFR for the School Enhancement project is currently being updated to reflect the provision of this additional accommodation. When the updated TFR has been received, the Business Case will be updated by the EA and resubmitted to the Department of Education for approval.
