Answer
Ensuring compliance with international treaties is a responsibility for all departments.
TEO has responsibility for the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Engagement with ECNI is standard practice within our Department, particularly when updating the equality legislation we are responsible for. We were pleased to receive correspondence from the Chief Commissioner recently noting officials’ continued close engagement on the current review of the Race Relations Order.
