Answer

There are no set uptake targets for the various groups included in the annual influenza vaccination programme. The aim is to ensure the vast majority of those eligible, which is around one million people, are offered the vaccine, in line with JCVI advice, between October and December each year, before the influenza season normally begins.

The Public Health Agency, which is responsible for the operational planning and implementation of the annual influenza vaccination programme, has advised that all eligible groups have now been offered a vaccine as part of the 2024/25 programme. As of 6 January 2025 526,464, influenza vaccinations have been recorded as administered as part of this programme.
