Answer
My officials met with their colleagues in the Department of Culture, Media and Sport on 14 January 2025 and 3 December 2025. The potential for Northern Ireland to receive a share of the GB statutory gambling levy on remote gambling operators was one of the issues discussed at those meetings.
The member may wish to note that on 10 March 2026 Baroness Twycross, Minister for Museums, Heritage and Gambling, wrote to the Chair of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee stating that the UK Government do not have plans to extend the levy to Northern Ireland.
