To ask the Minister of Health whether any hospital deaths have been determined to be due to neglect, in the last ten years.

Health and Social Care Trusts have advised that “neglect” is not a standard classification that is applied to deaths when they are recorded. As such, the requested information is not available. To provide data on this would require a comprehensive review of medical records for all deaths. Due to the high volume this would be at a disproportionate cost.
